The University of Western Australia (UWA) was founded in 1911. It is a famous Australian university located in Perth , the capital of Western Australia . It is also the first university in Western Australia. With its special sandstone buildings and spectacular botanical gardens, it is classified as one of the six sandstone universities in Australia.

Since its founding, the University of Western Australia has been one of Australia's most historic and representative research institutions, and is ranked in the top 100 in the world in many authoritative university rankings.
